Birdwatching<\/span><\/h3>\n

Provence offers a great diversity of natural sites rich in biodiversity<\/strong>.<\/span>
\nThe number of bird species in the Provence-Alpes-Cote d\u00b4Azur, <\/span>makes it an ideal destination for bird watchers.<\/span>
\nIn Provence, there are 245 species of resident birds<\/strong>, nesting, of the 275 species recorded in France.<\/span><\/p>\n

The South region, particularly the Camargue, hosts many migratory birds. The Camargue<\/a> is a unique wetland.<\/span>
\nDuring the major migration seasons, certain bird species make a simple stop in order to build up food reserves before continuing their migratory journey to sub-Saharan Africa.<\/span><\/p>\n

Other wintering birds<\/strong> will spend the winter in the Rh\u00f4ne delta to take advantage of ponds rich in fish and fields already harvested but where the seeds remain to be nourished.<\/span>
\nOver 400 species of birds have been observed there.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

In the Camargue there are many sanctuaries where species are protected.<\/span><\/p>\n

We will go to some of them where there are trails in the reed beds, observatories<\/strong> built near the ponds to optimize bird watching<\/strong>.<\/span>
\nAn entrance fee is requested in some parcs, so we contribute to participate in the conservation of these fragile environments.<\/span><\/p>\n

There are also many points of view around the pond of Vaccares.<\/span><\/p>\n

The fauna and flora of the Camargue is very rich there are different natural environments as the lagoon, the beach, the ponds, the rice fields, salt marsh. The biodiversity is preserved thanks to sanctuaries where no one is allowed.<\/span><\/p>\n

During this day we will visit the villages of Salins de Giraud, Aigues Mortes or Les Saintes Maries de La Mer.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=\u00a0\u00bb20px\u00a0\u00bb][vc_empty_space height=\u00a0\u00bb15px\u00a0\u00bb][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=\u00a0\u00bb1\/3″][vc_column_text]<\/i>\n Passionate about nature and biodiversity, I have been studying birds for many years<\/strong>. I am fortunate to travel through Provence with other naturalists and experienced bird watchers.<\/em>

The Ramsar Convention<\/strong> is an international treaty adopted on February 2nd 1971 for the conservation and sustainable use of wetlands.<\/em>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=\u00a0\u00bb1\/3″][vc_column_text]<\/i>\n The LPO<\/strong> organizes advanced training in ornithology, surveys to collect data on several bird species, actions whose aim is to protect Biodiversity.<\/em>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=\u00a0\u00bb1\/2″][vc_message message_box_color=\u00a0\u00bbgrey\u00a0\u00bb css=\u00a0\u00bb.vc_custom_1626876516982{background-color: #f8f8f8 !important;}\u00a0\u00bb]<\/p>\n

Birdwatching in the Alpilles, Sainte-Victoire and Camargue<\/h2>\n
